22. Yakiniku Bugyou (Media Entertainment, Playstation (PS3), 2001)

Yakiniku Bugyou literally translates to "grilled meat commissioner", and bills itself as a "yakiniku action game" on its box.

The game itself is pretty simple. You are a yakiniku chef grilling meat for 3 restaurant patrons for 99 seconds at a time. You have a 3x4 grid to grill various meats and vegetables on, and the game is mostly about time / resource management, making sure that you are keeping customers full with food they like ,while avoiding items they don't like or serving them undercooked food. You have an unlimited supply of randomly generated meats & vegetables, but can see the next 2 upcoming, kind of like Tetris.

The game is ultimately very simple, it gets pretty easy to tell when meat is ready to flip (it changes color slightly), and I like that vegetables realistically take a lot longer to cook. The game eventually throws a vegetarian customer at you to make things a little interesting, but overall once you've seen a level or 2 you've seen it all. This game has nothing on Ore no Ryouri, a PS1 cooking game that has a ton more variety / mechanics.

3/5, I love super specific games like this, but this one is kind of shallow.
